A UK essay prize for FY1/FY2 foundation doctors on surgical technology, AI and innovation. Opens 1 April 2027; a chance to build a surgical portfolio.

About this competition

Entrants are invited to submit an original essay of no more than 2,000 words on an aspect of surgical technology, innovation or responsible adoption.

Eligibility

Open to doctors in FY1/FY2 or equivalent early-career posts at the time of submission.

What to submit

An essay of no more than 2,000 words, submitted as PDF or DOCX, with an abstract of up to 250 words.
