AI for Surgeons: A Practical Workshop for Consultants
A hands-on introduction to using AI safely and effectively in clinical practice, research, education and administration.
This practical workshop introduces consultant surgeons and SAS doctors to the current generation of artificial intelligence tools. Sessions cover core terminology, realistic clinical and administrative use cases, information governance, and a structured approach to evaluating a tool before it is used in practice. The day is deliberately practical: participants work through worked examples rather than watching demonstrations.

- Apply an evaluation framework to a clinical AI tool
- Recognise information governance obligations when using AI tools
- Identify appropriate and inappropriate uses of generative AI in surgical work
